What Is Puffco?

Puffco makes electronic vaporizers and accessories designed primarily for cannabis concentrates. Its product lineup ranges from pocket-sized concentrate devices to water-filtered electric dab rigs and modular vaporizers. These devices replace the traditional torch-and-rig setup with electronic temperature controls, but they should still be used only with materials approved for the individual device.

A Puffco concentrate vaporizer is different from a conventional 510 vape battery. Devices such as the Peak, Proxy, and Pivot use refillable chambers that are loaded with compatible cannabis concentrates rather than prefilled vape cartridges. Shoppers can review Puffco’s official device comparison for a direct overview of the company’s current models and specifications.

Puffco Products Shoppers May Look For

Starbird carries several of Puffco’s most popular devices and accessories, but models, colors, and replacement components may change with inventory.

Starbird carries the standard Puffco Peak but does not currently carry the Puffco Peak Pro. The current Peak is a water-filtered electric dab rig with a 3D Chamber, Joystick Cap, four preset temperatures, real-time temperature control, USB-C charging, and a single-button interface. It does not require a phone or app, making it a straightforward option for shoppers who want an electronic concentrate rig for use at home.

The Peak Pro is Puffco’s connected premium model, adding features such as app customization, a larger 3DXL Chamber, wireless charging, and customizable heat profiles. These distinctions can help customers understand the difference between the devices, but shoppers looking for a Puffco Peak Pro near Salem should know that Starbird currently stocks the Peak rather than the Peak Pro. Additional specifications are available through Puffco Peak product details and Puffco Peak Pro product details.

Puffco Peak and Peak Pro

A sleek, black, portable blender with a modern design and curved handle.

The Puffco Proxy is a modular concentrate vaporizer designed to work with different compatible pieces and accessories. Starbird currently carries the new Proxy Core, which combines the app-enabled Proxy base with a compact, glass-free Core setup. It uses Puffco’s Proxy 3D Chamber and connects with Puffco Connect for customized temperature settings, session controls, and other device options.

Compatibility is particularly important with the Proxy. The new Bluetooth-enabled Proxy and older non-app Proxy use different components, and the current Core accessory is only compatible with the newer base. Customers searching for a Puffco Proxy nearby should confirm which generation they own before purchasing chambers or accessories. See Puffco Proxy Core product details for current manufacturer information.

Puffco Proxy

The Puffco Pivot is a pocket-sized concentrate vaporizer intended for customers who prioritize portability. It features a quick-release 3D Chamber, four preset temperatures, real-time temperature control, haptic feedback, and a light bar that serves as a visual session timer. It uses a single-button interface and does not require an app.

Although the Pivot has a slim, pen-shaped design, it is not a traditional vape pen or standard 510 cartridge battery. Its chamber is loaded with compatible cannabis concentrates rather than attached to a prefilled cartridge. Shoppers searching for a Puffco Pivot can compare Starbird’s current inventory with Puffco Pivot product details.

Puffco Pivot

Starbird’s Puffco accessory selection includes the Puffco Hot Knife and Pivot Glass Adapter, and multiples glass attachaments for all Puffco devices. The Hot Knife is a heated loading tool that helps transfer sticky concentrates into a compatible chamber. It is an accessory rather than a dab pen, concentrate vaporizer, or electric dab rig. Customers who desire a Puffco Hot Knife can review Puffco Hot Knife product details for current manufacturer specifications.

The Pivot Glass Adapter connects a Pivot base with compatible glass. Puffco’s current adapter includes a quick-release 3D Chamber and connections for 10 mm and 14 mm glass joints. Because Puffco components are not universally interchangeable, customers should confirm their device and accessory compatibility before purchasing. See Puffco Pivot Glass Adapter details for additional information.

Puffco and Cannabis Concentrates

The Puffco Peak, Proxy, and Pivot are primarily designed for cannabis concentrates. Concentrates collect cannabinoid- and terpene-rich material from the cannabis plant and can include live rosin, hash rosin, live resin, badder, budder, and other extract consistencies. Customers can browse cannabis concentrates in Salem or read our Hash Explained guide to learn more about different concentrate formats and production methods.

Cannabis flower should not be placed inside a Puffco concentrate chamber. Puffco offers a separate flower bowl for the Proxy, but that accessory does not turn the Proxy’s 3D Chamber into a dry-herb vaporizer. Customers who prefer prefilled cartridges and disposables should browse cannabis vapes, while those looking for traditional buds can explore cannabis flower in Salem.

Concentrates can contain substantial amounts of THC, so potency, serving size, tolerance, and prior cannabis experience should all be considered. Our THC Cannabinoid guide explains how THC works across different product formats. It is also important to remember that THC percentage is not the whole story, since terpene profile, extraction method, cannabinoid composition, and individual response can all influence the experience.

Adults looking for research-based information about cannabis effects and risks can review the CDC’s cannabis health and safety guidance. Additional scientific and educational information is available through NIDA cannabis education.

How to Choose a Puffco Device or Accessory

Choosing a Puffco device starts with deciding where and how you plan to use it. The Pivot is the most portable option in Starbird’s current lineup. The Peak offers water filtration and a straightforward single-button setup for home use. The Proxy Core combines portability with a modular design and app-enabled customization.

Customers should also consider their budget, preferred chamber size, cleaning routine, interest in app connectivity, and access to replacement parts. Someone who already owns compatible glass or Proxy pieces may have different priorities than a first-time Puffco shopper building a complete setup.

Accessories should be chosen with the same care. The Hot Knife can make loading sticky concentrates easier, while the Pivot Glass Adapter is intended for customers who want to connect their Pivot with compatible glass. If you are unsure where to begin, reviewing a few questions to ask a budtender can help you prepare for your visit and compare the available options more confidently.

What to Check Before Buying Puffco Products

Before purchasing a Puffco device or accessory, confirm that the exact product is available, compatible with your setup, and suitable for how you intend to use it. Model generation, chamber type, replacement-part availability, cleaning requirements, and manufacturer support can all affect the long-term ownership experience.

Puffco chambers, glass, mouthpieces, and accessories are not universally compatible. Customers should know the full name and generation of their device before purchasing a replacement component. This is especially important for the Proxy because the current app-enabled Proxy and the older non-Bluetooth model use different components.

Compatibility information should be verified through the packaging, product manual, or official Puffco support resources.  If the exact device generation is unclear, bring the product name, packaging, or a clear photo when asking for assistance.

Device compatibility

Accessories and replacement parts

Consider which parts may eventually require replacement before choosing a device. Chambers, glass, mouthpieces, charging cables, and other components may be model-specific. Availability can also vary, so shoppers should not assume every accessory will always be stocked locally.

Customers purchasing a Pivot Glass Adapter should verify the size of their glass connection. Proxy owners should confirm whether they have the new app-enabled base, and Peak owners should verify whether an accessory is intended for the current Peak, original Peak, or Peak Pro.

Regular cleaning helps prevent residue from accumulating inside the chamber, airpath, and connection points. Puffco generally recommends high-percentage isopropyl alcohol for designated chambers and removable components, but cleaning instructions differ by device. Electronic bases should not be submerged, and every component should be completely dry before reassembly.

Always follow the cleaning instructions for the exact model rather than relying on one general method for every Puffco device. The Puffco support and cleaning instructions provide device-specific guidance for the Peak, Pivot, Proxy, and other Puffco products.

Cleaning and care

Warranty and manufacturer support

Puffco provides limited manufacturer warranty coverage, but the coverage period and eligible components depend on the product. Puffco generally requires an original receipt showing the product, purchase date, price, and retailer. Glass, chambers, normal wear, accidental damage, and improper use may not be covered.

Customers should keep their original Starbird receipt and contact Puffco directly when seeking manufacturer service. Starbird cannot determine or approve warranty eligibility on Puffco’s behalf. Review the current Puffco warranty policy before filing a claim.

Why Buy Puffco From a Licensed Cannabis Retailer?

Buying Puffco from a licensed cannabis retailer gives customers the convenience of comparing a device with legal Massachusetts concentrates during the same visit. Starbird’s team can explain the practical differences between the Peak, Proxy, and Pivot, help customers identify available accessories, and point them toward the correct official information for compatibility and care.

Local pickup also avoids waiting for shipping. Customers can order online, use the Starbird app to browse the menu and receive store updates, and pick up their order at our Salem location. Starbird’s daily 9 AM–10 PM hours and large, free parking lot make it easy to stop in when it fits your schedule.

Starbird’s cannabis products come through Massachusetts’ regulated adult-use market, but that does not mean Puffco hardware is tested or approved by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission. Customers must be at least 21 and present a valid government-issued ID to enter. The state’s Massachusetts adult-use cannabis laws also prohibit public cannabis consumption and driving while impaired.
